ARP Digital co-founder and co-CEO Abdulaziz Kanoo spoke to International Business Times on 30 October about who bears the loss when an AI agent moves money wrongly, in coverage examining the pressure on US bank deposits from AI agents, stablecoin rewards and crypto trust charters.
Kanoo’s argument was that the difficulty is evidentiary rather than conceptual: liability is not hard to assign in principle, but the basis for assigning it does not yet exist. He proposed a model in which each agent operates under a recorded mandate defining its scope and limits, so that an agent acting within its mandate is executing the customer’s instruction, while one exceeding it becomes the provider’s responsibility, with providers insuring accordingly.
Asked which of the three pressures would most affect bank deposits over the next two years, he placed charters ahead of the others, arguing the effect is already visible in transaction prices rather than projections.
